Youth and Organ and Tissue Donation

Several Donor Awareness Council programs reach high school and middle school students about the importance of organ donation, including:

• Annual Creative Challenge poster, poetry and creative writing competition
  
• Write for Life journalism student competition
  
• Driver's education program (coming soon!)
  
• Bonfils High School Student Body Challenge
  
• Interfaith community youth events

Those under 18 who are interested in saying yes to organ and tissue donation can join the Colorado Donor Registry with parental consent by:

• Visiting www.ColoradoDonorRegistry.org
  
• Signing up with a parent or guardian's signature at a health fair, donor drive or Bonfils blood drive
  
• Saying yes when you receive your Colorado driver license – a driver license office employee will ask you at that time if you would like to be a donor
